The PacMAN second phase has finalised at the end of 2023, with major outcomes like the testing of 2 qPCR assays for high-risk target invasive species, including the detected Didemnum perlucidum.

A local advisory board meeting was held in December 2023, where the achievements and outcomes of the work were discussed in detail. The possibilities of continuing PacMAN work within the Fiji government structure was also discussed.

The PacMAN third phase will start in March 2024, and will see the finalisation of the communication plan, the data management workflow and decision support tool and final sample analyses. A training and final stakeholder meeting are expected for the end of the year 2024.
